Bordering Yosemite National Park, “Shangri La” is nestled in the heart of the Eastern Sierra Mountains in California. Less than 100 people a year see the views from the Valley keeping it pristine and wild. Shangri La offers a multitude of terrain styles, making it a snowboarder’s paradise. When the filmmakers’ longtime friend and landscape photographer Jeff Mitchum saw Shangri La, he knew he had to preserve it the best he could. Mentoring under Ansel Adams, Jeff learned the ins and outs of the Sierra mountains and invited four snowboarders to post up in his cabin and explore the wonders of the vast, unexplored landscape.
